TRADEFIXFIELD SERVICE · VOL. 01
FILE 03 / MANIFESTOWHAT WE BELIEVE
Founder's noteRevised APR 2026

We built TradeFix
because the
trade contractor
kept losing.

Every software company chasing this market is chasing the big shops — the 50-truck HVAC company, the 200-electrician shop. Meanwhile the 4-person plumbing outfit, the 2-truck garage-door guy, the solo electrician who just hired her first apprentice — they get handed the same product at half the price and a fraction of the fit. That's the gap. That's why we're here.

SIXPRINCIPLES
01
THE SHORT LIST

Six things we
refuse to compromise on.

01/ ONBOARDING

Self-serve or bust.

If you need a 45-minute onboarding call to figure out how to add a customer, we built the wrong product. Every shop should be running a real dispatch by end of day one — on their own, without our help.

02/ PRICING

We show the price. Always.

The two most-asked questions in contractor Facebook groups are "what does ServiceTitan cost?" and "is Housecall Pro worth it?" — because nobody shows the price. We show the price. All four tiers. Right on the homepage.

03/ TERMS

Month to month. Forever.

Trade shops have cycles. Busy spring, slow winter, that one tech who left and took three trucks with him. You should not be locked into a 12-month contract for software. We never ask for annual commitments — not now, not at scale.

04/ FIELD

Mobile-first means tech-first.

The tech on the truck is not going to use a web app that forces a 14-step invoice flow. Our iOS and Android apps are the real thing — capture photos, collect signatures, build on-site estimates, update status in two taps. The office dashboard is built around the tech's reality, not the other way around.

05/ RETENTION

Memberships aren't a premium add-on.

The shops that scale past $1M revenue all have recurring service agreements. Every competitor either (a) gates memberships behind the most expensive tier or (b) charges a separate add-on fee. We put memberships in every plan from $99 up.

06/ FAIRNESS

No gatekeeping. No gotchas.

No per-tech fees. No per-invoice fees. No "advanced reporting" paywall. The five-truck shop pays $99 a month and gets the reports, the memberships, the portal, the mobile app, the integrations. The whole platform. That is the deal.

I ran a 3-truck HVAC shop for 12 years. The software problem isn't features — every tool has the features. The problem is none of them were built by someone who has ever had to look a homeowner in the eye and hand them a bill.

COUNTERWHAT WE'RE NOT
02
THE NEGATIVE SPACE

Equally important:
the things we
refuse to build.

NO. 01

Enterprise feature creep

No AI-generated chat assistants. No 47 dashboard variants. No "AI-powered lead scoring." You asked for dispatch and invoicing — we ship dispatch and invoicing.

NO. 02

Annual lock-in contracts

Nobody should have to commit a year of cash flow to software they haven't tried. If it's not working, cancel. Take your data. We'd rather earn month thirteen than pretend month one is a commitment.

NO. 03

Tiered reporting paywalls

Reports are not a premium feature. You paid for the platform — you get the numbers on your business. All of them. On every tier.

NO. 04

Nickel-and-diming integrations

Stripe, QuickBooks, Google Maps, Twilio — they're included. Not a $29-a-month add-on. Not a $99-a-month "Pro integration pack."

NO. 05

Dashboards built for VPs

The person using this software is a shop owner who's also on the truck three days a week. The dashboard should open to what matters today, not what impresses in a board meeting.

End of list.
